Book and CD-ROM
Cardiac auscultation is one of the most widely used diagnostic techniques in veterinary medicine. This comprehensive book on heart sounds and murmurs contains over 100 illustrations and an enclosed audio CD with over 60 examples of heart sound recordings. The book and audio CD is intended to aid the veterinary student and the practicing veterinarian to interpret normal and abnormal heart sounds auscultated through the stethoscope or recorded on a phonocardiogram. The ample examples provided in the book and on the audio CD may also serve as a library of heart sounds and murmurs that may help during a diagnostic work-up of cardiac cases. Furthermore, the book contains extensive explanations on how normal or abnormal heart sounds and murmurs are generated and how these sounds may be graphically displayed and evaluated further using phonocardiography.
